Cosmelan® & Dermamelan® Peels for Pigmentation

Cosmelan® & Dermamelan® are clinical depigmentation treatments designed to reduce pigment caused by any insult, including sun exposure, post inflammatory pigment and melasma.

These depigmentation peels have a worldwide reputation as one of the most effective treatments for pigmentation, and are suitable for al skin types. The results we have achieved with these peels is remarkable.

What is the Difference Between the Cosmelan & Dermamelan peels? Both peels contain similar ingredients, however Dermamelan® is much more potent and can only be offered with physician oversight. Because it is stronger, Dermamelan® may cause slightly more redness and sensitivity for the first few months.

Will the Cosmelan & Dermamelan peels remove all my pigmentation? We are realists and will never sell you a ”miracle” cure - what we can offer is an evidence based approach designed to combat pigmentation for the long term and a team of experienced clinicians who will support you.

Depigmentation peels remove the majority of superficial pigmentation, but will not remove all of it. They are not a cure for the ongoing causes of ongoing pigmentation.

Our before and afters are great examples of our real results, with no filters or touch-ups.

What Will My Skin Be Like Post Cosmelan & Dermamelan Peel? You may have red, sensitive skin for a few months post treatment- this is an expected outcome after a strong peel. This may atke several months to settle.

What is Included in the Cosmelan & Dermamelan Treatment Programmes? Our depigmentation protocols are customised to your skin. We focus on education and ongoing maintenance to give you the best long term outcomes for your pigmentation concerns.

An initial consultation is required to provide education and discuss your options. Not everyone is a good candidate for depigmentation. We will refer you to our doctor if we think you need a medical consult.

Recommended Plan Phase 1:  involves the application of a thick mask which takes 30 minutes. You will go home with the mask on- ensure you book a morning appointment. Phase 2: consists of a 4 month home care maintenance program, which is critical to the success of the treatment.

Downtime / Aftercare Day 1-4: expect red, tight and swollen skin. Day 4-5: peeling will start around this time and may last 7-10 days. It is very important NOT to pick, rub or exfoliate the skin. Allow skin to shed naturally. If you pick the skin, you will increase the risk of infection and scarring.

Expectation Results will appear 2 -3 weeks post treatment. Expect a significant improvement in pigmentation as well as clearer, brighter skin. Your skin will slowly improve over the next few months. Be patient and aim for progress not perfection.
