🌵 SkinPen Microneedling - A Cut Above The Rest
/🌵 What is the SkinPen Difference?
As a medical clinic, we are always on the look out for quality, evidence based treatments and we are introducing the new SkinPen microneedling device this month.
While there are many microneedling devices available online and on ebay (!), SkinPen is the only medically recognised microneedling device available in Australia. It is only available to select clinics and under a medical doctor’s care - making it a perfect fit for us.
With this comes superior technology and manufacturing, improved safety, established clinical evidence and reduced downtime.
🌱 SkinPen is approved as a Therapeutic Medical Device The freely available and cheaper devices are definitely not approved, have no safety guarantee and pose significant risk of needle breakage, abrasion and skin infection.
🌱 Each SkinPen needle tip is single use, made of medical grade stainless steel, and manufactured with a high level of quality assurance. This ensures safe, consistent and precise calibration- meaning we can treat multiple concerns, large surface areas and different anatomical areas in one treatment without the needles becoming blunt. And this means better results for our patients.
🌱 The SkinPen system is clinically proven and designed to work without chemicals, heat or stress, ideal for sensitive skin types and patients wanting a natural and effective treatment.
🌵How Does Microneedling Work?
Microneedling devices contain a hand piece with multiple small needles that gently penetrate the skin ‘s surface - this triggers a natural immune response to clear debris, increase blood flow and create new proteins such as collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. This builds healthy new skin.
Clinically, these structural changes result in improvements such as a reduction in acne, rosacea, a normalisation of skin turnover and sebaceous activity, improvement in skin quality, fine lines, pore size & scarring, and generally smoother skin, more radiant and younger-looking complexion.
🌵 Who is the ideal client for a Skin Pen treatment?
Microneedling is a versatile treatment. It’s the perfect age management intervention for younger skin types, targeting multiple issues such as enlarged pores, superficial acne scarring, superficial pigmentation and stretch marks. It is particularly useful (and economical) to treat large areas of textural concern - an example of this is acne scarring on the body or and stretch marks on the abdomen, breast or thigh. The best time to treat for these concerns is as soon as possible- early treatment has better outcomes.
Microneedling is an ideal treatment for darker skin types, patients who don't like a heat based treatment like laser, or skin that is sensitive and cannot tolerate exfoliants and chemical peels ( yes, I know you’re out there!)
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we maybe able to use needling, but this always need to be discussed with our doctor.
🌵Is Skin Pen The Panacea For Skin Health?
Although everyone can have microneedling, there are often better solutions to treat specific concerns.
This particularly applies to more mature skin/perimenopausal skin types, pigmentation and active acne - if this is the only device your clinician has, be aware that microneedling is not the best treatment for everything. Always ask about alternatives and the best solution.
As a medical clinic, we take diagnosis and prescription seriously. It is our job to assess your concerns before any treatment, discuss the options and tailor the best plan for you. We have a large range of peels, lasers, energy based device , prescription medicine and specialist colleagues for referral- which is why we ask you to have an initial consultation with our doctor before any treatment.
We also combine SkinPen with other clinical grade modalities such as IPL, Ultraformer III, skin boosters, PRP or prescribed home care for particular goals - meaning you’ll get the best possible results in the fastest possible time.
🌵What is a Thrive Signature Microneedling Treatment?
Our Thrive Signature Microneedling Treatment includes the face, neck and decolletage, as well as a post treatment mask & LED light treatment to enhance recovery. After consultation, we can also customise a treatment to address your concerns. A standard protocol is 3-6 sessions, one month apart, although your individual plan may vary depending on your goals. We use a prescription strength topical local anaesthetic if indicated, to make sure your SkinPen experience is a positive one.
We'd love you to try this device and we have a great introductory offer- 3 sessions for only $999 (save $350). See our website for Terms & Conditions.
